Missed It By *that* Much

I knit in public all the time. Really, all the time, almost constantly. On the bus/train, in doctor's offices, at work, at sporting events, in restaurants, everywhere. I've had people ask me to stop knitting at their parties because it made them feel weird (only once, honest). I am a public knitter, no question.

Except on WWKIP day. Somehow I miss this knitting holiday every freakin' year. I've either had to work or I was sick or something was amiss that kept me from joining my knitting buddies in a quest to freak out the normals share the knitting love with the world at large.

Not this year though. This year I missed WWKIP day because I was finally well enough to receive my winter holiday present from the HusBoy. So we went to see Wicked in Hollywood, then stayed in a hotel to save me from driving all the way home afterwards and to keep me out of the house for as long as possible. I read the book a while back, and while the musical only vaguely follows the book I thought it was absolutely fabulous as did the HusBoy, who hadn't read the book. I have one gripe, but if you haven't seen it I don't want to give anything away (and it's a stupid gripe anyway). I had an absolutely smashing time; if you have a chance to see this musical I highly recommend it. We are planning to see the Phantom of the Opera early next year, the same musical we went to see on our first date over a decade ago (romantic, ain't it?).

So I didn't knit a stitch on WWKIP day, but there's always next year, not to mention tomorrow.

Yeah I missed it too. I did go to the Estes Park Wool Festival though. Does that count?

At least you got out of the house! I took the fuzzy dog to the groomer for the day. It was supposed to be quick -- but it took 4 hours.

I've browsed on the link for the musical wicked and oh that's just splendid...wow what a great musical and glad you enjoyed yourself :-) I've been to evita and if wicked will be played in holland I'm sure I'll go there.

I didn't knit in public also. Just like you I knit everywhere so also in public places and I'm just fine with that.

Take care,
hug
Valeria :-)
