Funny, I Thought It Was Pride

Apparently, orphans can also come before a fall...

Last year, in the throws of loss, I whipped out one of the 15,000 red scarves that Norma encouraged us to knit for the Orphan Foundation of America's Red Scarf Project out of some nifty Caron Simply Soft Tweed. So, when Wendy mentioned that it was that time of year again, the hankering to knit another scarf in the same yarn became irresistible despite the sweaty state of the world.

Now, don't get me wrong. I will break any sort of rule of thumb/diet/misdemeanor-type law for a really good cause. Buying those two balls of yarn (acrylic, no less) hasn't caused me the slightest pang of guilt whatsoever. The fact that they had the exact amount of the exact color in the exact colorway I desired only affirms our intertwined destinies. Even the apparent case of startitis I seem to have contracted isn't causing me many misgivings.

The scarf pattern is the Men's Cashmere Scarf from Last Minute Knitted Gifts.
You know the rest of the slackers.

The real cause of my dismay is what else fell into my basket while I was wandering around. Poor photo quality and my shame makes for small pictures.

I have resisted and lost, y'all win. I'm headed over to Ravelry to find a suitable first dishcloth.

Welcome to the club! They are addictive. :D

And I've decided that dish rag cotton doesn't count as stash. (That's why its not up at ravelry for me. LOL)
